League Updates

Flyers Families,

Last week the Colorado Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA), the board that oversees youth hockey in Colorado, approved all Colorado leagues that applied for the 2023-2024 season. As a result, two metro area leagues, the Colorado Competitive Youth Hockey League (CCYHL), which Foothills has historically been a member of, and the Rocky Mountain Hockey Federation (RMHF), a newly formed league of past CCYHL members, were both approved (For more information on the CAHA discussion, the meeting minutes can be found here: https://www.co.hockey/minutes.)

After learning about CAHA’s decision and after many discussions about what’s best for our families, the Foothills Hockey Association (FHA) Board has decided it is in the best interest of the hockey players of FHA to join the RMHF. Principally, this decision was made to provide Foothills players with ample competitive hockey opportunities in the Denver Metro area, and to make hockey easier to access and less expensive for all FHA families. FHA will also work with the teams outside of the metro area, including teams in the mountains and western slope of Colorado and will set up game opportunities as appropriate by team.

FHA is committed to ensuring the best competitive environment for each and every Flyers team this season and all seasons in the future.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me or any of your board members.
